Wooo, y'all. I just found my place down here. My spot that i can go and get my "...lil' taste of the nightlife!" First time ever going to a club or something of that nature, and i found this place called Paesano's Lounge. In case you have something to do i will sum it up in this sentence fragment. Think Love Jones. For those of you who are clueless, my apologies.
Anyway, yeah... rolled with Steven, i'm telling you the DJ was on point, played everybody i'd ever want in my playlist. I'm talkin' about... Angie Stone, India Arie, Prince (when he was "Prince"), and flipped in some DMX, Bootsy, Nas, ahhhh LENNY (DANG) WILLIAMS!!! I don't care who you are, that is the jam. [Lenny Williams - 'Cause I Love You] As well he played Bilal, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott... and u know if u play Bilal, u are automatically on my good side. On top of this, all this was in between pieces from poets. Rennaisance poets, jazz poets, militant poets, "ignant" poets, and straight emcee's acapella. I was feelin' cats like Carl Ashanti and a dude straight up named "Black Poet". So good they were called back. My views on self, religion, my people, global events...all verbally tickled this evening. I'm mean it was so much that i actually left before the last two poets, believing i would be in joy-overload, i had to get a breather man, and just take time to grasp all that was presented. I mean.... wow. The hostess was funny too, that lady there... yep. I ... uh... well.... dangit look... me happy!!! 8-) Peace.

I realized i was quite naive in high school. There is so much that went on that i missed, which lead me back to the realization... I live a very drama-free life. If there were a channel that would air the story of my life, no it wouldn't be FOX. I would make the History Channel. Well, maybe The Discovery Channel or TLC but not HBO or Showtime. Although i am quite pleased that my life would not air on Lifetime...else i would just ... die.

"Yeah... I'm squeezed, in the middle. Smack dab.. In the middle!!"

I am so sorry people, I had a really good convo with Steven and Jessica which lasted from i'd say 7:39PM to 3:41AM. Unfortunately there were like four(4) different times that I wish I hadn't left my PDA in the car so that could share with you the wonderful or random things that I usually would write down so i don't forget. But i forgot to bring it inside, and then forgot all those different things. My mistake. C'est la vie. Well, just know it was good from politics to prenups to [insert a subject you feel would best fascinate one, which begins with 'p' thus completing the alliteration]. U should have been there. Shame on you for living so far away. :-D Peace.

Since the last few hours have been quite introspective i will share with you my ponderings ....

...basically i am deciding how much of this is actually me, or becoming me, or just what i want to be, else not me at all; thing is...while many of you may feel u have me pegged, u'd be suprised...
Past:
DREAMER
( Submissive Introverted Abstract Feeler )
You are a DREAMER (SIAF)--reserved and imaginative. You are basically the shy, silent type. You don't have much interest in facts and figures or most of what’s going on around you, but the internal worlds you build for yourself are rich and complex. Luckily, your creativity and strong heart mean you have a deep personality evident to anyone who gets to know you. It's just that not many people do, because most everyone thinks you’re a loser. Talk to yourself less, other people more, little shaver.

Present:
ARTIST
(Dominant Introvert Abstract Feeler )
Like just 4% of the population you are an ARTIST (DIAF)--creative, adventurous, and deep. Although you are an introvert, your dominant ideas lead you to assert yourself often--especially through your work. You actively put your creativity to constructive use, and because you are ruled by your heart you are less likely to be inhibited by logic.
You have an intuitive understanding of emotion and know how evoke it in others, but the real world can be a prison of foolishness and embarrassment if you don't get your head out of the clouds a little more. Also, you are 87% likely to write poetry. Please, for the love of God, stop now.

Jung Says:
The Artist
Introverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving
ISFPs tend to be quiet and reserved, and difficult to get to know well. They hold back their ideas and opinions except from those who they are closest to. They are likely to be kind, gentle and sensitive in their dealings with others. They are interested in contributing to people's sense of well-being and happiness, and will put a great deal of effort and energy into tasks which they believe in. They are keenly in tune with the way things look, taste, sound, feel and smell. ISFPs are action-oriented individuals. They genuinely care about people, and are strongly service-oriented in their desire to please. They have an unusually deep well of caring for those who are close to them, and are likely to show their love through actions, rather than words.

You are Tweety:
You are cute, and everyone loves you. You are a best friend that no one takes the chance of losing. You never hurt feelings and seldom have your own feelings hurt. Life is a breeze. You are witty, and calm most of the time. Just keep clear of back stabbers, and you are worry-free.

1:04 am: What are ramparts?

11:04 am: I like wHen people assume i play a sport, then they start guesssing which sport i play, i like to just let them run through them all

12:47 pm: Little kids on buses Like to wave!
BrEndTH: So today i was driving ...
BrEndTH: i wound up behind this bus
BrEndTH: so this one little kid i'd say 5, turns around and waves
BrEndTH: so of course i wave back
BrEndTH: she turns around ducks down for a sec
BrEndTH: then 8 lil kids return waving:-)

:-) Harrison Ford ...that man is funny. So he's on Conan, just having a blast talking about how he'd love to do a silly movie, then just starts ragging on K-19. He's like, "...what kind of a name for a movie is that?" "And why do they have to be Russian?!" Then he does a few silly faces, and i forget the rest cus i was laughing too hard...
I've never heard anyone be brutally honest about their film like that... Conan was like " ...haha, the producers are probably saying 'GET HIM OFF!! GET HIM OFF!!' " Later it was, "Welcome back, I'm Conan O'Brien and I think i just ruined Harrison Ford's career." ... Happy moment!

Mmm. "The Look"....

So i was looking back through my blogs to see if i would actually have to explain "The Look" to you, or if i could just reference it. Unfortunately I actually have not chronicled "The Look". Briefly (well, semi-brief), not everyone is comfortable with interracial couples yet, and even though Jessica (who easily appears White) and I (clearly Black) are in no way a couple, people assume when its just us two. And it shows in their stare, yes stare. Not a simple glance, but a ... =-O shocked/suprised gaze.
Anyway, "The Look" is slightly less disturbing than "The GLARE", which has like an optical scolding. It's not so bad in Houston, but Boston...geez. I want to apologize when i make someone glare; take them aside and say "I am so sorry i made your face contort like that, is there anything I can get you? Its not the end of the world!" We got "The Glare" today; poor lady, her face ... so unready. Yet, I wonder what they think when they see Steven, Jessica, and me... :-D

My mom visited a some of her favorite clients recently, this Indian couple. They taught her how to make this tea which is originally British but now highly popular in India. So of course she is like "You must try this". Let me tell you, it was great, i mean yum. It had milk and cinnamon, (i know "milk in tea??" but it was good) So good...that I considered not venturing out so that i may have more. Indian things are good...very very good...

I don't think the uber-nerd (eg, Urkel) really exists anymore. Rather, I think they look just like you and me. However in talking to them, you eventually discover they have an extensive knowledge of things technological, had an unhealthy interest in the X-Files, play strategy games and/or RPGs on a regular basis, and already have tickets to that IMAX film about deep sea divers. Yes, the nerd has evovled and he/she is closer than you think.

Again today i was thinking about what games would be fun now, and yes Tag came to mind. Then i thought... wow, I never EVER played 'Doctor' when i was a little Brent. Hmm, playing 'Doctor' nowadays...there's a fun time just waiting to happen! ;-)

7:07 pm: When you are the passanger in a car, i personally feel that one of the least pleasant moments is when the driver get something in their eye. Something, whatever it is, ... is now putting ur life at risk. :-) Doesn't that just suck?! All u can do is watch the road and hope that pretty soon, they get it out. Or just give up and let it become part of their eye. Unintentional swirving, not fun.

7:39 pm: You know, i have to give the people on Lassie their props. Those are some patient people. You got Lassie coming up to you all stressed, barking who knows what, probably stuttering... The "masters" were always like, "What is it girl?" "What's the matter?" "Is Timmy trapped in the well?" "Do you want me to come with you, or what?" I mean, they deserve a medal for not saying, "Ok... look Lassie, you're a smart pooch and all, but calm down; >:o go away, write it down... that's right, write it down, then come to me when u think you're ready!! ... ... ... And where is that lil peanut-head boy?"

So i am watching PBS ( a channel i loathed as a child for having too much serious stuff), there is interview w/ the stars of Road to Perdition along with this critic. At one point the critic mentions the details of the film and how it has the "propitiousness" to allow for pauses where most films today slam one with scene after scene.
As you might still be saying to yourself, I immediately said " >:o What does 'propitious' mean?!" Just then they cut to Tom Hanks whose face also seemed to be turning this question over in his mind. I love PBS, and somehow this adds to my desire to see what i expect to be a good film.

In the meantime, i retire for the evening to have a midsummer night's dream as i hope you all shall. TaTa.

8-) I've just had an experience. If u strongly agree with these three... then go to the link at the bottom.

1.) I am slightly fanatical about my Star Wars.
2.) I enjoy Queen from time to time.
3.) Right now it wouldn't take much to make me smile.

Ladies and Gentlemen... a Star Wars Opera loosely set to Bohemian Rhapsody

Its odd but reading back through your blog ... it sort of sparks this nostalgic feeling as if the posts (of yesterweek) were created a vast blast into the past. Sorry, i just had to roll with that "ast" stint. Yeah... so everyone read through your past blogs.

Vanilla Coke(c) commercials; i am in love with those.

Mainly because I too, would have stuck my head in the fence (not all the way, too paranoid to do that), but i defintely would have looked in the peephole. As they said, my curiosity could have repercusssions, but lucky me ... i should be rewarded with a vanilla coke. I've heard it doesn't taste so great. But i'm curious, i want to try it.

So this extremely random person IMed me. Believe me, I was weirded out. So rather than going through the random chit chat we took a slightly different route and wound up having a really nice conversation. It was funny how i kept testing her to see if she wasn't someone i knew role-playing. She passed all the tests and her story held up, except for not knowing what time it was in Italy, but she was sleepy. Honestly I'd rather talk to this stranger, than struggle through trying to figure out what to say to people that i know. She asked me some personal questions i answered; i ask her some she answered. It was pleasant and really neat listening to this older woman and bits of her life so far. :-) Yep.
She ... turned out to be this girl that i know in Cali. My gosh, i told this girl how i felt about her, not knowing that it was her. In my gut, i suspected ... but her story worked and survived random quizzes... AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE WHO I THOUGHT!! In the end, she said "your toooo young to be sooo suspicious really" ......... I can only laugh at myself. :-!

Woo Hoo.... Derek McGinty is back on ABC World News This Morning. The really funny one that comes on at 4AM. He was "On Assignment" for approx 3months. This "assignment" i want to see it. And it better be dirn good!

Living in Texas has seriously warped my perception of size. Jess and I were chillin' next to the largest of the new stadiums and we said
"Wow, that's really nice. Although..... they could have made it bigger!" Now this is a rediculously large building, but living in TX, all things seem grossly undersized to you. BIG F-150 trucks and such....those are an every second occurance. Basically the "BIG" stereotype falls true on things in Texas. Only thing is...if its all you are used to (folk like me), then its a small world after all!

5:01 pm: Must write movie where rich parents lose a kid, and just adopt another one.
7:27 pm: Buffy is best when put in song; i long for a woman's firm and supple...tight embrace!

11:16 pm:
Tennis racket boy = Astrophysicist = Natalie Portman's next boyfriend.
